Introduction of JGMTRTC, Ranchi

The Jharkhand Government Mini Tool Room & Training Centre, Ranchi is strategic endeavor towards fulfillment of the goals set by the Government in its industrial policy. This tool room has been setup in 2007 by Department of industry, Government of Jharkhand with the assistance of Government of India and registered under societies registration act 1860. The centre having training & production wings equipped with latest range of machine tools having the industrial controls procured from global market including CAD/CAM and sophisticated CNC Machines, ultra modern class rooms with latest teaching aids, hostel facilities separately for boys & girls.

                                       The centre is also conducting 4 year Diploma in Tool & Die Making. & 2 years Advance Machinist Course. Apart from training activities the centre is also acting as a hub for various small, medium, large scale industries and providing consultancy in design and manufacturing. The  Production Deptt. Is engaged in design & manufacturing of jigs , fixtures , mould , gauges , press tools & die casting dies .

            The total cost of the project is Rs. 36.82 crore. The Govt of India has provided Rs. 900 Lakhs for the procurement of sophisticated Machine Tools for the Tool Room.  The Tool Room is equipped with state of art technology and best equipments at par with other Tool Room in the country. The existing tool room cum training centre in the country has been contributing to industrial research programmes. Most of the industries depend on such Tool Room, having the latest and best technology available for experimentation / new designs. The present industrial policy of the Govt. of Jharkhand envisages the growth in manufacturing activities, which would be possible if such Tool Room support the industries. These Tool Room would contribute to industrialization and development of the state and the growth of Special Economic Zones ( SEZs). These Tool Room projects provide the well trained highly skilled manpower to the industries.

The objectives of the Mini Tool Room & Training centre are: -

a)    To manufacture jig, fixtures, cutting tools, gauges, press tools, forgings dies, pressure casting dies and other tooling for small scale & other industries. Advanced tool making process using CAD/CAM techniques are to be adopted

b)    To provide training facility in Tool manufacturing and tool design in order to generate work force of skilled workers, supervisors, engineers/designers etc.

c)    To work as nucleus centre for providing consultancy, information services, documentation etc. for solving the problems related to tooling of industries in the region.

d)    To act as common facility centre for small-scale industries and to assist them in product and prototype development.

A)   Diploma In Tool & Die making

The following batches are admitted in 4 years  diploma in Tool & Die making was admitted at JGMTRTC, Ranchi with an intake capacity of 60 students each:
